Mrs. Young
-Treasury-

With a great passion for kids, Ms. Glenda Young believes that all students learn in a different capacity and she wants to equip them with the proper tools and information to facilitate the different ways in which they learn thereby ensuring their success.
She has over 20 years of experience in the field of education and holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and an additional 72 hours in Special Education/Administration and Supervision. She has been with Plant A Seed for three years and currently serves as Board Member/Secretary/Treasurer. She got involved at the
encouragement of one of our other instructors. Her initial role was a substitute teacher that expanded as she got more
involved with the organization. The part of her work that she most enjoys is being able to work with at risk students in the community and watching them grow through a positive academic environment. Ms. Young currently resides in Bossier City, LA. In her spare time she enjoys sporting events, especially Grambling State University football games, traveling to visit family and friends, various church activities, cooking, and watching new and old movies.

Tara Davis
-Elementary School Teacher-

Believing that knowledge is power and education is key, Ms. Tara Davis has made herself a vital part of the Plant a Seed team as an instructor for our first, second and third graders. She has been with the program for 7 years and got involved because she needed a place for her daughter to attend while she worked. Her involvement eventually led to her current role. Ms. Davis feels blessed to be a part of Plant A Seed and is inspired by the “excitement that she sees on a child’s face when they realize that they understand a skill.” She also loves when alumni of the program come back to say “hi.” She attended Centenary College and works with our Bossier location.

Doretha Cann
-Middle School Teacher-

She is passionate about educating young minds, and is one of our most active teachers here at Plant A Seed. She’s been with the program for five years and has previously served as a third through fifth grade teacher. Her current role is a dual one where she serves as an administrative assistant and a math teacher for first through eighth grades. She’s one of our most experienced educators with over 40 years in the profession. She believes that all students are unique in their own way and that all students can learn. She also believes that when given the proper environment, students can be productive physically, mentally and socially. She got involved at the urging of a friend and credits “students succeeding and working effectively as a team player” as the most rewarding aspect of the program. Ms. Cann also spearheads our annual St. Patrick’s Day Giveaway. She truly is a giver and we are so blessed to have her on staff. When she’s not working with Plant a Seed, Ms. Cann is active at the Galilee Baptist Church in Haughton where she serves as Youth Director.

Pamela Goodman
-High School Teacher-

She is currently the middle school/high school ELA teacher at PASYF. She has been with PASYF for 4 1/2 years. Her educational background consist of a Bachelors in Sociology and a Masters in Social Work. Mrs. Goodman works at the Bossier location. She has been working in education since 2012. She feels that the most rewarding aspect at the PASYF is to witness students who may be struggling in a certain area finally have the light bulb come on where you know you made a connection with them. When this happens, it gives you a sense of satisfaction that you have made a difference in someone else’s life. Mrs. Goodman is also the pastor of the Bossier Mission Outreach Church where they provide food for selected families throughout the year. She has a passion for helping others and deserves to be thanked!
